Frequently asked questions
We are here to walk alongside every patient throughout rehabilitation. Below are some commonly asked questions about our program.
Will my insurance cover inpatient acute rehabilitation?
We bill Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance. Sometimes your insurance carrier may require a pre-authorization before admission to our facility.
How long is a typical stay at inpatient rehabilitation?
The typical stay is 12 to 14 days. Because every patient’s progress, goals and diagnosis are different, the stay could be longer or shorter.
What can I expect during my inpatient rehabilitation stay?
During inpatient rehabilitation, we will create an individual plan of care to meet each patient's goals for returning home and back to their daily life. This plan will include occupational, physical and speech therapy.
Occupational therapy addresses activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, eating and toileting. Physical therapy focuses on overall strength, balance and endurance for mobility. Speech therapy focuses on speaking, cognitive therapy and eating/swallowing.
The therapy gym has specialized equipment to help patients return home and into a community setting. Rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi access, phones and televisions. Our activity day room and accessible outdoor space allow patients to have a comfortable place to rest and relax outside of their rooms.
Can my family or caregivers visit?
Our hours are Monday through Saturday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and on Sunday from 9:00am to 7:00pm. Family and caregiver training will be scheduled to help patients transition from therapy to going home and into the community.
Outpatient therapy services
We provide outpatient therapy services for patients who have been discharged from our inpatient program. We also offer outpatient services for patients who may not require inpatient rehabilitation.
Physical therapy
The goal of a physical therapy program is to restore movement and function, relieve pain and prevent further illness and injury.
Our physical therapists evaluate and treat problems with movement, balance, strength and conditioning. Physical therapy can be beneficial for individuals with:
- Balance disorders
- Burns
- Cancer
- Chronic pain
- Orthopedic injuries
Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy helps patients maximize independence and safety in daily living. This includes areas of self-care, leisure and work.
Our occupational therapists create a customized treatment plan based on a comprehensive evaluation of home and job environments. Occupational therapists also provide recommendations on necessary adaptations and give guidance to family members and caregivers.
Speech therapy
Speech therapy, also called speech language pathology, helps a person improve communication and cognitive abilities. It can also help build confidence and independence. Our highly trained speech therapists develop individualized programs to meet the needs of each patient.
Speech language pathologists help you recover your language and cognitive skills and can teach you alternative ways to communicate, if needed. Speech therapy can also help with swallowing disorders.
