Memorial Satilla Health administrators, team members and care partners gathered at Inpatient Rehabilitation yesterday to celebrate receiving The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for stroke rehabilitation.
Following a rigorous evaluation of performance standards, Memorial Satilla Health's Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® as a Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.
Today's announcement is Memorial Satilla's second recent achievement regarding stroke care. Healthgrades gave the hospital a Five-Star Rating for Stroke Treatment earlier this year.
To earn the certification in stroke rehabilitation Memorial Satilla Health demonstrated excellence in performance standards, clinical practice guidelines, and performance measurement. A strong emphasis is also placed on patient and caregiver education and the collaboration of the facility's interdisciplinary team of care experts who work cohesively to create an individualized care plan for each patient.

Approximately 26 percent of patients in our inpatient rehabilitation program are receiving treatment for stroke recovery.
