Recognition

The American College of Radiology (ACR) accredited Memorial Satilla Health in the following imaging services: computed tomography (CT), mammography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine and ultrasound.

Diagnostic imaging services

We offer an array of imaging services at Memorial Satilla Health. All of our images are interpreted by a group of board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists.

Imaging services we offer include:

  • 3D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Bone densitometry
  • Computed tomography (CT) angiography
  • Diagnostic X-ray
  • Image-guided organ tissue biopsy
  • Interventional radiology
  • Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA)
  • Nuclear medicine studies
  • Portable X-ray and fluoroscopy
  • Positron emission tomography (PET)/CT scan
  • Stereotactic (X-ray guided) breast biopsy
  • Ultrasounds

CT scan

During a CT scan, a machine will rotate around your body, taking up to 100 images per second. This creates 3D images of internal structures from various angles. The CT scan helps physicians instantly diagnose a full range of disorders and injuries, including heart disease and joint problems. It is also used for vascular studies, providing sharp, real-time pictures of even the tiniest blood vessels.

Mammography

Mammography with computer-aided detection (CAD) technology helps detect breast abnormalities the human eye cannot yet see. We are proud to offer 3D mammography to help identify abnormalities with more accuracy to aid in the early detection of breast cancer.

MRI

Our powerful MRI machine captures the most accurate images available in radiology today. Featuring a "short bore" tunnel, MRI tests allow our patients to lie comfortably without feeling closed-in within the unit.

We also offer cardiac MRIs. These can be helpful for identifying conditions such as heart disease or assessing damage from a heart attack.

PET/CT scan

This scan combines the strengths of PET and CT technologies into a single test. CT scans show images of the body’s internal structures, while PET scans show how those structures are functioning on a cellular level. For example, a CT scan may show the precise size, shape and location of a tumor. Whereas a PET scan can detect biochemical changes inside the tumor that indicate if cancer is present.

Picture archiving and communication system (PACS)

Our PACS provides a filmless approach to diagnostic imaging. This digital technology allows multiple physicians to view the same scan at the same time, no matter where they are located. Patients no longer need to transfer their own films from one office to another, saving you time and energy.

MyHealthONE

For your convenience, the MyHealthONE patient portal allows you to register for your imaging appointment and save time at the hospital. It also allows you to easily access your reports from your imaging test. To get started, you can create an account on their website or download the MyHealthONE app.

Outpatient imaging center

In addition to inpatient imaging services, we provide outpatient radiology at our hospital. If your doctor has ordered a test, a member of our team will reach out to you about when you should come in and any special instructions.

Getting to the lab

To get to our radiology lab, walk through the main hospital entrance and follow signs to registration. If you haven't already, you will first need to register (be sure to bring your insurance information). From there, you will be directed to the radiology lab.

We are open Monday through Friday, from 7:30am to 5:30pm. If you have any questions about your upcoming test, call our radiology lab at (912) 287-2650.
