Memorial Satilla recognized outstanding members of their nursing staff at the annual Nursing Awards Ceremony held during Nurses Week, May 6-12.
"Nurses, you are the backbone of healthcare at Memorial Satilla Health, the guiding light in times of uncertainty, and the epitome of resilience. Thank you for your unwavering dedication, your exceptional care, and your relentless pursuit of excellence," said Celeste Brizzee, chief nursing officer.
Award winners include: Nurse of the Year Christine Stipe, Nursing Leadership Award – Haley Dixon, Nursing Team Award – 3-Main team led by Dara Lanier, Rising Star Nursing Award – Skye Horne, Team Member Excellence Award – Tonya Jackson.
Nominations for this year’s winners noted their dedication and collaboration.
“Christine is kind, skilled and leads by example. She continues to inspire me every day through the grace and the compassion she shows our patients,” her nominator wrote.
“Haley pours her heart into nursing. She is constantly helping in other departments when the need arises. She truly cares like family,” said her nominator.
“The 3-Main team always comes together to put patients first, and works very hard to ensure their unit is performing at its best,” Brizzee said.
“Skye is a very compassionate nurse. She is always on the scene ready to help and cares about our patients’ quality of life,” said her nominator.
“Tonya goes the extra mile and makes friends wherever she goes. She is a valuable asset to this organization,” her nominator wrote.
