Waycross, GA - Memorial Satilla Health presented a check for $50,000 to the Coastal Pines Technical College Foundation at a recent board of directors meeting. The funds will be designated for funding a healthcare faculty position and for student scholarships.

"We appreciate our community partners at Memorial Satilla Health. Their generous donations help us offer health programs that fill the local workforce needs and provide financial assistance to our students as they train for a career in the healthcare industry," said Dr. Glenn Deibert, president of Coastal Pines Technical College.

Memorial Satilla Health, through its community benefit fund, has committed to contribute $1.95 million to area organizations over the next 10 years to meet area needs, including education, improvement of community health, business and economic development, and community enrichment. Community representatives on the hospital's board of trustees oversee the expenditure of these funds.

The hospital has recently contributed $150,000 to fund education in area school districts in Ware and surrounding counties, including Pierce and Brantley.

"We are pleased to extend our partnership with Coastal Pines," said Bobby McCullough, CEO of Memorial Satilla Health. "We are dedicated to the community and this partnership is a reflection of our mission statement - above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life."
