The Laboratory at Memorial Satilla Health performs many different types of tests — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In fact, this year, our specially trained and certified Lab team will perform more than one million tests ordered by the doctors on our medical staff. The Laboratory includes an accredited Blood Bank. The blood bank receives its supply of blood products from the American Red Cross. We rely on local community donations for a good supply of all blood types.

What to Bring
Please bring your written doctor’s order, your insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid card and a valid Legal Picture ID (an example is your driver’s license) with you. Without your order, card, and ID your test may be delayed.
Where to Go
Please go to the Outpatient Laboratory at 1921 Alice St, Suite A2, behind the hospital.
What to Expect
A lab test requires a sample of your blood or body fluids (most commonly required is blood and/or urine). These samples will then be analyzed to give your doctor important information about your health. Along with your medical history, symptoms, physical exams and other information, lab tests help build a complete picture of the status of your health, so your doctor can plan the best treatment for you.
Your Test Results
Lab test results are reported to your doctor usually on the same day as you have the test, unless your sample is sent to an outside lab. The Laboratory staff is not authorized to interpret or distribute your laboratory results. Obtaining a copy of your results can easily be done thru Medical Records.
